Date: July 15, 2026, 18:16 hrs.
On July 15, 2026, at approximately 18:16 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in Blenheim.
Through the investigation, officers learned that a 73-year-old male from Harwich Township, who was intoxicated, struck a 39-year-old victim, with a piece of wood, causing a minor injury. Additional medical attention was not required.
Further investigation also revealed that the accused damaged a window at the residence with a shovel before pursuing three individuals and uttering threats to harm them.
Police located and arrested the accused a short distance from the residence. The individual was charged with the following offences:
- Count 1 – Assault with a weapon
- Count 2 – Mischief Under $5000
- Count 3 – Uttering threats – Cause bodily harm or death
- Count 4 – Uttering threats – Cause bodily harm or death
- Count 5 – Uttering threats – Cause bodily harm or death
The accused was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters and is currently held for bail.

Date: July 15, 2026, 21:04 hrs.
On July 15, 2026, at approximately 21:04 hrs., Chatham-Kent Police Service officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute at a residence in Chatham.
Through the investigation, officers learned that a 63-year-old woman from Chatham attended the residence of a 66-year-old male from Chatham who was bound by court-ordered conditions prohibiting contact with her, and a physical assault occurred.
As a result of the investigation:
- The 63-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with Fail to Comply with a Release Order.
- The 66-year-old male from Chatham was arrested and charged with Fail to Comply with a Release Order by communicating with and associating with the woman contrary to his conditions.
The individuals were transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where they were released with future court dates.
Impaired and IPV – CK26051934
Date: July 15, 2026, 23:17 hrs.
On July 15, 2026, at approximately 23:17 hrs.,Chatham-Kent Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in Blenheim. Before officers arrived, the involved individual left the residence in a vehicle.
Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, a 42-year-old male from Leamington, was arrested after providing breath samples that registered over the legal limit.
Subsequently, the individual was charged with the following:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg
The accused was released with conditions and a scheduled court date for August 25, 2026.
