The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 72 hours. Below is a summary of the key events, including arrests, investigations, and other notable occurrences.

Bail Violations – CK25040525

Date: July 11, 2025, Time: 16:16 hrs, Location: Talbot Street West, Blenheim

A 49-year-old female from Blenheim conducted several unauthorized transactions at various businesses and through online platforms using a bank card that did not belong to her. These transactions occurred between January 16-23, 2025. They took place over multiple days and locations and included ATM, withdrawals and merchandise purchases.

After conducting a thorough investigation, the individual was charged with over 40 criminal offences including the following:

  • Fraud Under $5,000
  • Use of a Credit Card
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

The total amount fraudulently spent was reimbursed to the victim.

On January 31, 2025, the accused was released with multiple condition, one which prohibited her from attending any branch of a local financial institution in the province of Ontario.

On July 11, 2025, at approximately 16:16 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police responded to a report involving a breach of release conditions after the mentioned individual entered a branch of the restricted institution, contrary to the conditions of their release. Officers located the individual and she was charged for the following:

  • Failure to Comply

She was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where is currently being held for bail.

Theft – CK25040796

Date: July 12, 2025, Time: 20:17hrs, Location: St Clair Street, Chatham

On July 12, 2025, approximately 21:17 Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a theft at a local retail store.

While patrolling the area, officers observed a 50-year-old male and a 33-year-old female both from Chatham-Kent riding bicycles within the area. The pair matched the description provided by the complainant and were stopped shortly after.

The 50-year-old male was charged with the following:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

The 33-year-old female was charged with the following:

  • Theft Under $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Obstructing a peace officer

Both individuals were transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters. The 33-year-old female was released with a scheduled court date of July 29, 2025, and the 50-year-old male was released with scheduled future court date of August 18, 2025.

Theft – CK25041013

Date: July 12, 2025, Time: 19:17hrs, Location: St Clair Street, Chatham,

On July 13, 2025, at approximately 19:17 hrs, an off-duty Chatham-Kent Police Service officer observed a 29-year-old male from Chatham concealing items and leaving a store without making a purchase.

The individual fled the scene on foot and approached a nearby residence, attempting to gain entry without permission. Officers responded to the area and located the individual.

Upon investigation, the individual was charged with the following:

  • Theft and Possession Under $5,000
  • Unlawful in a Dwelling

He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, and he was released with a scheduled future court date of August 21, 2025.
