The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.
Arrest, Warrants – CK26001625
Date: January 7, 2026, Time: 22:33 hrs, Location: King St. W. Chatham
On January 2, 2024, at approximately 10:33 p.m., Chatham-Kent police officers responded to a call for service at a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham (CK24004903).
While on scene, officers located a 34-year-old Chatham woman who was wanted on an outstanding warrant. She was arrested on the strength of the warrant.
During the arrest, officers conducted a search and located quantities of suspected controlled substances, including methamphetamine and fentanyl, individually packaged.
As a result of the investigation, the female was charged with
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking x2
She was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters and later released with a court date of Feb. 26, 2024. The accused failed to attend court, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
On Jan. 8, 2026, at approximately 10:33 p.m., while on patrol, Chatham-Kent police located the accused in the downtown area of Chatham-Kent. She was arrested on the outstanding warrant and transported to police headquarters, where she is currently being held pending a bail hearing.
Arrest, Bail Violations – CK26001638
Date: January 7, 2026, Time: 23:41 hrs, Location: William St. S. Chatham
On January 7, 2026, at approximately 23:41 hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Park Street and William Street, Chatham.
During the investigation, it was revealed that one of the occupants of the vehicle, a 36-year-old male from Chatham, was in possession of a BB gun and a knife, which was in breach of his court-ordered conditions which includes, the prohibition of the accused possessing any firearms, crossbows, restricted weapons, ammunition and explosive substance for life.
As a result, the individual was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order x 2
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he is currently being held for bail.
Arrest, Warrants – CK26001678
Date: January 7, 2026, Time: 02:27 hrs, Location: Grand Avenue East, Chatham
On June 13, 2025, at approximately 6:08 a.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service was contacted by the Lakeshore Ontario Provincial Police after it was discovered that credit cards had been stolen and used within the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.
Through surveillance footage and further investigation, police identified the accused as a 54-year-old Chatham woman. The investigation determined she attended a gas station in Tilbury and made several unauthorized purchases using a stolen credit card.
As a result of the investigation, the accused was charged with the following offences:
- Fraud under $5,000
- Use of a stolen credit card
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
The accused was arrested on July 17, 2025, and released with conditions and a court date of Aug. 25, 2025. She failed to attend court, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
On Jan. 7, 2026, at approximately 2:27 a.m., Chatham-Kent police officers located the accused during a traffic stop. She was arrested on the strength of an outstanding bench warrant and transported to police headquarters, where she is currently being held for bail.
