The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.
Warrants– CK26006561
Date: January 26, 2026, Time: 21:01 hrs. Location: Linden Street, Chatham
On January 19, 2026, at approximately 12:06 hrs., Chatham-Kent Police Service officers responded to a report of theft at a business on Wellington Street West in Chatham (CL26000044).
The investigation revealed that an accused, entered the business, selected items of merchandise and concealed them. The accused then exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the concealed items.
Through the use of surveillance footage, the accused was identified as a 30-year-old female from Chatham.
As a result of the investigation, officers formed reasonable grounds to charge the individual with the following offences:
- Count 1: Theft Under $5,000
- Count 2: Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
A warrant was subsequently issued for her arrest.
On January 26, 2026, at approximately 21:01 hrs, the accused was located on Linden Street, Chatham. She was arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant. The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where she is currently held for bail.
Warrants– CK26006632
Date: January 26, 2026, Time: 02:10 hrs. Location: Bentpath Line, Sombra
On October 9, 2022, the Chatham-Kent Police Service initiated a traffic stop on an unplated motorcycle travelling westbound on Richmond Street, Chatham (CK22047920).
During the investigation, officers determined the motorcycle did not have a valid licence plate attached. The rider, a 54-year-old male from Sarnia, was also unable to produce a valid driver’s licence or show proof of ownership or insurance documentation.
Further investigation also revealed that the motorcycle had been reported stolen and that the accused was driving while under suspension.
As a result of the investigation, the accused was charged with the following offences:
- Count 1: Drive Motor Vehicle- No Plates
- Count 2: Drive Motor Vehicle- No License
- Count 3: Possession of property obtained by Crime
- Count 4: Operate Motor vehicle without insurance
- Count 5: Obstruct Peace Officer
- Count 6: Drive while Under Suspension
The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was released with a court date of November 4, 2022. The accused failed to attend court on two occasions and subsequently a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On January 26, 2026, at approximately 02:10 hrs., the Sarnia Police Service located the accused on Bentpath Line, Sombra during a traffic stop. During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused was the subject of an outstanding warrant. He was returned to the Chatham-Kent Police Service where he is currently held for bail.

Warrants– CK26006435
Date: January 26, 2026, Time: 9:45 hrs., Location: Grand Avenue West, Chatham
On January 26, 2026, at approximately 9:45 hrs., officers conducted a traffic stop after an Automatic Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system indicated that the registered owner of the vehicle was suspended from driving.
As a result, a 39-year-old male from Chatham was issued a Part III summons for Driving While Under Suspension. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
