Warrants – CK26004938
Date: January 20, 2026, Time: 10:31hrs., Location: Grand Avenue West, Chatham
On July 7, 2021, at approximately 7:35 pm. The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a driving complaint on Grant Street, Chatham (CK21031750)
Investigations revealed that a vehicle had almost struck a construction sign. Officers located the vehicle and the driver, a 46-year-old male from Howard Township. As a result of the investigation, officers found grounds that the driver was impaired by drugs.
Further investigations also revealed that the vehicle involved had been reported stolen along with additional items in the vehicle that were reported as stolen.
The driver was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters for further testing which resulted in a fail. Subsequently, the individual was charged with the following:
- Count 1: Operation while impaired by drug
- Count 2: Possession of stolen property over $5000
- Count 3: Possession of stolen property under $5000
- Count 4: Drive While Under Suspension
The accused was released with a court date that he failed to attend. Subsequently, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On January 20, 2026, at approximately 10:31 hrs., the accused was located on Grand Avenue West, Chatham, where he was arrested on the strength of an outstanding endorsed warrant.
He was transported to the South West Detention Centre (SWDC), where he will remain in custody until his next scheduled video court appearance on January 23, 2026.
Impaired/Over 80– CK26005057
Date: January 20, 2026, Time: 20:09 hrs., Location: Chatham
On January 20, 2026, at approximately 20:09 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of an impaired driver on Keil Drive in Chatham.
Investigations revealed that a pickup truck was swerving on the roadway and almost struck a tanker truck. Through further investigation, the driver, a 46-year-old female from Chatham was located and displayed signs of impairment, she was subsequently placed under arrest.
The individual was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters for further breath testing, where she provided two samples above the legal limit.
She was charged with the following offences:
- Operation while Impaired
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was later released with a scheduled future court date of February 9, 2026.
Bail Violations – CK26005067
Date: January 20, 2026, Time: 20:09 hrs., Location: Charing Cross Road, Chatham
On January 20, 2026, approximately 20:09 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a call for service at a residence on Charing Cross Road, Chatham involving an individual who was in breach of their court-ordered conditions.
Officers attended the location and located the individual, a 45-year-old female from Chatham-Kent who was attempting to flee the scene on a bicycle. Further investigations revealed that the individual was bound by court ordered conditions including an order not to attend the address.
As a result, the individual was arrested and charged with the following:
- Count 1: Fail to Comply with Release Order
- Count 2: Failure to Comply with Probation Order
The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where she is currently being held for bail.
Impaired/Over 80– CK26005094
Date: January 20, 2026, Time: 23:35 hrs., Location: Chatham
On January 20, 2026, at approximately 23:35 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of an impaired driver on St. Clair Street, Chatham.
Investigations revealed that a vehicle was travelling northbound on St. Clair Street in Chatham and was not staying in its lane. It was also reported that it almost struck another vehicle before turning into a parking lot.
Officers located the vehicle in the parking lot. During the investigation, the officer made an Approved Screen Device (ASD) demand. The driver, a 68-year-old male from Raleigh Township provided a sample which resulted in a fail.
The individual was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters for further breath testing, where he provided two samples above the legal limit.
He was charged with the following offences:
- Operation While Impaired
The accused was later released with conditions and a scheduled future court date of February 10, 2026.
