Chatham-Kent, Ontario: On June 11, 2025, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service Intelligence Unit, with assistance from the Emergency Response Team, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence on Park Street in Chatham. This warrant allowed police to search the premises for evidence related to drug trafficking offences.
During the operation, officers uncovered a substantial quantity of controlled substances, including fentanyl, methamphetamine, hydromorphone, and cocaine, with an estimated street value of approximately $81,000. Additional items found at the location included:
• Packaging material
• Digital scales
• Two BB guns
• One Conductive Energy Weapon
• One collapsible baton
• A large quantity of Canadian currency
As a result of the search, five individuals—two men aged 27 and 34, two women aged 34 and 42, and a 29-year-old man, all from Chatham—were charged with various offences, including:
• Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking hydromorphone
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
The 29-year-old man also faced additional charges due to a weapons prohibition, specifically:
• Possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order
• Possession knowing its possession is unauthorized
All individuals were transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
