On July 16, 2025, member of the Intelligence Unit and Emergency Response Team executed two Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search warrants at the residences in Chatham. During the execution of the search warrants five individuals were located and arrested for possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking:
-A 32-year-old female from Chatham
-A 52-year-old female from Chatham-Kent
-A 53-year-old male from Chatham
-A 28-year-old female from Chatham-Kent
-A 42-year-old male from Chatham
A systematic search of both residences was conducted and resulted in the seizure of the following:
-293 grams of fentanyl
-51 grams of cocaine
-1.5 grams of methamphetamine
-Digital scales
-Packaging materials
-A large quantity of Canadian Currency
The total estimated street value of the controlled substances is approximately $63,790
As a result of the investigation the accused have been charged with the following offences:
32-year-old female:
-Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine – Controlled Drugs and Substances
-Possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl – Controlled Drugs and Substances
-Possession of a substance – methamphetamine – Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
-Possession of a substance – Fentanyl – Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
-Fail to comply with probation
52-year-old female:
-Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine – Controlled Drugs and Substances
-Possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl – Controlled Drugs and Substances
53-year-old male:
-Possession of a substance – Fentanyl – Controlled Drugs and Substances
-Fail to comply with undertaking, contrary to the Criminal Code
28-year-old female
-Possession of a substance – Fentanyl – Controlled Drugs and Substances
42-year-old male
-Possession of a substance – Fentanyl – Controlled Drugs and Substances
-Fail to comply with release order
The 32-year-old female, 52-year-old female and the 42-year-old male have all been held in custody pending bail hearings.
The 53-year-old male and the 28-year-old female have been released with conditions and a scheduled court date of August 21, 2025.
