The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.

Arrest, Warrants – CK26008515

Date: February 02, 2026, Time: 20:03hrs., Location: Walpole, Wallaceburg

On December 23, 2025, at approximately 12:20 hrs. The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of theft at a business on Duncan Street in Wallaceburg (CK25076997).

Investigations revealed that an accused entered the store, selected several items of merchandise, and made no attempt to pay for them. When approached by a store employee, a physical altercation occurred before the individual exited the store with the merchandise. No injuries were reported.

Through the use of surveillance footage, the accused was identified as a 28-year-old female from Walpole Island. Officers formed grounds to charge the individual with the following offence:

  • Count 1: Robbery with Intent

Subsequently, a warrant was issued for her arrest.

On February 2, 2026, at approximately 20:03 hrs., the accused was located and arrested by the Walpole Island Police on the strength of her outstanding warrant. She was returned to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters where she is currently held for bail.

Arrest, Warrants – CK26008537

Date: February 02, 2026, Time: 22:48 hrs., Location: Curran Crescent, Chatham

On February 1, 2026, at approximately 23:00 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence on Forest Street, Chatham.

Investigations revealed that a verbal altercation occurred inside the residence between a 35-year-old male accused and a youth, both from Chatham. The altercation escalated, which resulted in multiple physical assaults on the victim. Additional medical attention was not required. The accused left the residence shortly after.

As a result of the investigation, officers formed grounds to charge the accused with the following

  • Assault Causing Bodily Harm x 2

Subsequently, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On February 2, 2026, at approximately 22:48 hrs., the accused was located on Curran Crescent, Chatham. He was arrested on the strength of his outstanding warrant. The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was released with a scheduled future court date of March 16, 2026.

Arrest, Warrants, – CK26008552

Date: February 02, 2026, Time: 00:03 hrs., Location: Third Street, Chatham

On September 2, 2022, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a domestic-related call for service at a residence in Chatham.

Investigations revealed that a 29-year-old male attended the residence uninvited and confronted a 22-year-old female, both from Chatham. The accused physically assaulted the victim by pushing her and spitting in her face. The accused then fled the scene.

As a result of the investigation, officers formed grounds to charge the accused with the following offence:

  • Count 1: Assault

A warrant was issued for his arrest.

On December 10, 2024, the accused was located on Tweedsmuir Avenue West, Chatham and was arrested. He was later released with conditions and a scheduled court date which he failed to attend, subsequently causing his warrant to become endorsed.

On February 2, 2026, at approximately 22:48 hrs., the accused surrendered himself at the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters. He was arrested on the strength of his outstanding warrant and is currently held for bail.

Traffic Stop – CK26008349

Date: February 02, 2026, Time: 3:18 hrs., Location: Montgomery Drive, Wallaceburg

On February 2, 2026, at approximately 3:18 hrs., a Chatham-Kent Police Service Officer conducted a traffic stop after receiving an Automated Licence Place Recognitions (ALPR) Alert on Montgomery Drive in Wallaceburg.

As a result of the investigation, the driver, a 35-year-old male from Chatham, was found to be operating a motor vehicle while under a valid licence suspension.

The driver was issued a Part III summons for driving while suspended. His vehicle was impounded for a period of seven days.
