The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.
Warrant – CK26012420
Date: February 18, 2026, Time: 10:02 hrs., Location: Grand Avenue West, Chatham
On October 29, 2025, an accused, a 42-year-old female from Chatham, was released by way of a recognizance with conditions, including reporting weekly to the Chatham-Kent Police Service.
On December 3, 2025, the accused failed to attend the Chatham-Kent Police Service to sign in.
As a result, officers formed grounds to arrest the accused for the following offence:
- Count 1: Fail to Comply with a Release Order
Subsequently, a warrant was issued for her arrest.
On February 18, 2026, at approximately 10:02 hrs., the accused was located at the courthouse on Grand Avenue West, Chatham. She was arrested on her outstanding warrant and was transported to the South West Detention Centre, where she remains remanded until her next video court appearance on February 20, 2026.
Warrant – CK26012477
Date: February 18, 2026, Time: 14:04 hrs., Location: Wallace Street, Wallaceburg
On December 3, 2025, at approximately 03:47 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a suspicious person on Margaret Avenue, Wallaceburg.
Investigations revealed that a male was attempting to open vehicle door handles and was later seen sitting inside of an SUV.
Upon arrival, officers located the accused, a 36-year-old male from Chatham-Kent. Further investigations revealed that the accused had entered a vehicle that did not belong to him and had stolen several items from the vehicle.
As a result of the investigations, the accused was arrested and charged with the following:
- Count 1: Possession of Property Under $5,000 from a Motor Vehicle.
The accused was released with a future court date of January 19, 2026, which he failed to attend. Subsequently, a warrant was issued for his arrest (RM26000287). On February 18, 2026, at approximately 14:04 hrs., the accused was located on Wallace Street, Wallaceburg. He was arrested on the strength of his outstanding warrant. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was later released with a scheduled future court
