The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.
Warrants – CK25072532
Date: December 2, 2025, Time: 14:32 hrs, Location: Windsor Tunnel
On November 26, 2025, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of an Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) report involving a 37-year-old male accused from Wallaceburg and a 42-year-old female victim also from Wallaceburg. The accused was charged with the following offence:
- Count 1: Harassing Communication
A warrant was issued for his arrest.
On December 2, 2025, at approximately 14:32 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service was notified by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) that the male was wanted on an outstanding warrant and he was in custody at the Windsor Tunnel after attempting to enter Canada.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officers attended the location and arrested the individual on the strength of an Intimate Partner Violence/ Recognizance to Keep the Peace (IPV/RPG) warrant issued by the Chatham-Kent Police Service.
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a scheduled court date of January 6, 2026.
Arrest – CK25072604
Date: December 2, 2025, Time: 22:29 hrs, Location: Harvey Street, Chatham
On December 2, 2025, at approximately 22:29 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service officers responded to a disturbance call at a residence on Harvey Street in Chatham.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the accused, a 22-year-old male from Chatham who provided a false name to officers.
Through investigation, officers learned that the accused had an outstanding warrant. It was also determined that he had fled the residence while officers were present.
Officers located and arrested the accused. He was charged with the following offences:
- Count 1: Obstruction of a Peace Officer
- Count 2: Fail to Comply with Release Order
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he is currently held for bail.
Arrest – CK25072600
Date: December 3, 2025, Time: 04:23 hrs, Location: Margaret Avenue. Chatham
On December 3, 2025, at approximately 04:23 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a suspicious person loitering in a parking lot and entering an unlocked vehicle on Margaret Avenue in Chatham.
Officers located the individual and the accused was identified as a 36-year-old male from Chatham-Kent.
During the investigation, officers located a significant number of stolen items in his possession.
He was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Count 1: Theft Under $5,000 from a Motor Vehicle
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where was released with conditions and a scheduled future court date of December 29, 2025.
