The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.

Assault cause BH / IPV – CK25074377

Date: December 11, 2025, Time: 10:10 hrs, Location: Blenheim

On December 11, 2025, at approximately 10:10 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Blenheim.

Investigations revealed that a 40-year-old male accused from Ridgetown and a 42-year-old female victim from Blenheim were involved in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation.

As a result of the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Mischief
  • Assault – Causing Bodily Harm

He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was later released with a scheduled court date of January 21, 2026.

Traffic Enforcement (HTA)- CK25074507

Date: December 11, 2025, Time: 22:19 hrs, Location: Wellington Street West, Chatham

On December 11, 2025, at approximately 22:19 hrs, a Chatham-Kent Police Service officer on patrol observed a vehicle being operated on Wellington Street West in Chatham.

When a traffic stop was attempted, the driver fled the vehicle and attempted to evade officers on foot. The individual was located a short distance away, hiding in nearby bushes and was arrested.

As a result of the investigation, the driver was identified as a 47-year-old male from Oil Springs. Further investigations revealed that he was driving with a suspended driver’s licence. He was charged with the following offence:

  • Driving While Under Suspension

The individual was also issued a Part III Summons with a future court date. His vehicle was towed.

Bail Violations – CK25074523/ CK25074532

Date: December 11, 2025, Time: 23:35 hrs, Location: St. Clair Street, Chatham

On December 11, 2025, at approximately 23:35 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service attended a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham in response to a report of bail violations.

Upon entering the business, officers observed a 43-year-old male from Chatham and a 44-year-old female, also from Chatham, together. The investigation confirmed that the male was in breach of his court-ordered conditions prohibiting him from associating or communicating directly with the female.

The accused was arrested and charged with the following offence:

  • Fail to Comply with Release Order

The female was also arrested and charged with the following offence:

  • Facilitate Breach of Release Order

Both individuals were transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where the male is currently held for bail. The female was released with conditions.

Failure to Comply – CK25074540

Date: December 12, 2025, Time: 01:16 hrs, Location: Llewellyn St, Chatham

On December 12, 2025, Chatham-Kent Police Service officers were dispatched to a residence on Llewellyn Street, Chatham for a welfare check.

Through investigations, officers learned that a 911 call had been placed using another individual’s cellular phone.

Further investigations revealed that the accused, a 45-year-old female from Chatham was subject to a probation order that included a condition prohibiting any forms of direct or indirect communication with the involved person, an 80-year-old male from Chatham.

Officers located the accused in the company of the prohibited individual and as a result she was charged with the following:

  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where she is currently held for bail.
