The Chatham-Kent Police Service is pleased to confirm that officers have safely located a missing senior following a swift, coordinated search led by CKPS.

On December 8, 2025, at approximately 10:25 a.m., the Chatham-Kent Police conducted a welfare check at a patient-centred care clinic on Queen Street in Chatham. Officers were contacted after one of their long-time patients, an 88-year-old male from Wallaceburg, did not arrive for his scheduled appointment, which is a rare occurrence. Recognizing the urgency and potential to his will-being, CKPS officers immediately initiated efforts to locate him.

Officers attended several locations in Wallaceburg and along his usual travel routes, gathering information and checking areas he was known to frequent. Using investigative techniques, timely intelligence and inquiries into the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) system, officers were able to narrow the search quickly locating the male’s vehicle travelling in the vicinity of Thamesville. Officers from across the Municipality, converged on the area and the male was eventually pulled over on Ridge Line near Blenheim. Officers were able to confirm he was in good health and arrangements were made to reunite him safely with his family.

This successful outcome reflects the dedication of CKPS officers and the value of strong community connections and useful technologies. The Chatham-Kent Police Service thanks the clinic staff, local businesses and family members who shared information that supported the investigation and together, this coordinated response helped ensure the safety and well-being of one of our vulnerable residents.
