The Chatham-Kent Police Service has charged three individuals with stunt driving and impounded their motorcycles following an investigation that began with a citizen complaint.
On October 3, 2026, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service received a complaint regarding a group of motorcyclists engaging in dangerous driving on St. Clair Street in Chatham. The complaint included concerns about excessive speeds, aggressive riding and conduct that placed other motorists and members of the public at risk.
Officers initiated an investigation and reviewed evidence obtained through the complaint process. As a result, police identified three motorcyclists believed to have been operating their motorcycles in a manner consistent with stunt driving offences under Ontario’s Highway Traffic Act.
On October 5, 2026, officers located the involved riders: an 18-year-old male, a 19-year-old male, and a 28-year-old male, all from Chatham. The individuals were each charged with one count of stunt driving. Their motorcycles were subsequently impounded for 14 days, and their drivers’ licences were suspended for 30 days in accordance with provincial legislation.
The individuals are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to thank the member of the public who came forward with information. Citizen reports play an important role in identifying unsafe driving behaviours and helping to keep local roadways safe for everyone.
