On August 13, 2026, at approximately 20:13 hrs, Chatham Kent Police Service responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Communication Road between Drury Line and Burk Line, in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.

The investigation revealed that a single motor vehicle, operated by a 33-year-old male from Chatham, lost control before leaving the roadway.

There were two other occupants in the vehicle, a 25-year-old male from Blenheim and a 16-year-old female from Chatham. Both passengers sustained injuries, with one suffering life-threatening injuries. The passengers were transported to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical treatment. The 16-year-old passenger was later transported to Victoria Hospital in London for further medical care.

Due to the severity of the collision and the injuries sustained, members of the Traffic Management Unit attended the scene and assumed responsibility for the investigation. Communication Road was closed for several hours but has since been reopened.
