The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 72 hours. Below is a summary of the key events, including arrests, investigations, and other notable occurrences.

Warrants – CK25047201

Date: August 8, 2025, Time: 05:43hrs, Location: 24 Third Street, Chatham

On May 6, 2024, at approximately 6:55 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service officers observed a vehicle parked in Tilbury containing various tools which were visible to the public (CK24020239).

Upon investigation, officers determined the items had been taken from a nearby storage shed.

A number of tools were recovered from the vehicle, including:

  • Fiskars pole saw/pruner
  • 4450 Champion generator
  • Red gas Gerry can
  • ½” 18V DeWalt Drill
  • Stihl chainsaw MS260
  • Large ball diamond rake
  • Square shovel 
  • 12” Rigid compound miter saw

 All property was seized and returned to its rightful owner.

As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old female from Chatham was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Count 1: Break and enter a place, commit Theft
  • Count 2: Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

The accused was released with conditions and future court date of April 28, 2025, which she failed to attend. An endorsed warrant was then issued for her arrest.

On August 8, 2025, the accused attended the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters and turned herself in regarding the outstanding endorsed warrant.

She was later released with conditions and a scheduled future court date of September 23, 2025.

Impaired – CK25047483

Date: August 9, 2025, Time: 13:33 hrs, Location: Communication Road, Blenheim

On August 9, 2025, at approximately 13:33 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a vehicle striking a sign in a commercial parking lot in Blenheim.

A short distance away, officers located and intercepted the vehicle and identified the driver as a 46-year-old male from Raleigh Township. Officers were also able to form grounds for an impaired driving investigation.

The driver was subsequently transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for further testing. The driver was charged with the following:

  • Count 1: Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80

The individual was later released with a scheduled court date of September 3, 2025

RPG Arrest – CK25047483

Date: August 10, 2025, Time: 22:24hrs, Location: Grand Ave West, Chatham

On August 10,2025, at approximately 22:24 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to an alarm at a local business in Chatham.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that a rear door had been damaged. Officers searched the premises for a possible suspect, but no one was located at the time.

Further investigations revealed that property had been taken. Security camera footage provided officers with a description of the suspect, identified as a 29-year-old male from Chatham-Kent.

Later that day, officers located the individual, and a search incident to arrest revealed property reported stolen from the business.

The individual was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Count 1: Break and enter to commit Mischief
  • Count 2: Theft Under $5000

The individual was later transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he is currently being held for bail.
