The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events, including arrests, investigations, and other notable occurrences.
IPV – CK25046581
Date: August 5, 2025, Time: 14:50 hrs, Location: George Street, Ridgetown
On August 5, 2025, at approximately 19:34 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police responded to a report of a 45-year-old female from Ridgetown breaching court-imposed release conditions. The accused was observed attending a residence contrary to the conditions of her release.
Upon investigation, it was determined that the accused had knocked at the door of the residence, seeking a 49-year-old male from also from Ridgetown. Upon learning he was not present, she left the residence. Police were notified of her appearance.
Later that same day, at approximately 15:25 hrs, officers located and arrested the accused at a nearby location. She was charged with the following offences:
- Failure to Comply with Release Order x2
The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where she was released with a scheduled future court of September 10, 2025.
Warrants – CK25046596
Date: August 5, 2025, Time: 16:30 hrs, Location: 24 Third Street, Chatham
On June 15, 2025, at approximately 19:43 hrs the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in Chatham.
Upon arrival, officers located 63-year-old male victim from Chatham with a visible injury to his right eye. Further medical attention was declined.
Following an investigation, officers arrested a 50-year-old female from Chatham at the scene. The incident stemmed from a verbal dispute that both parties, which escalated into a physical altercation.
The accused was charged with the following:
- Count 1: Assault
The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where she was released with a scheduled court date of July 24, 2025, which she failed to attend. An endorsed warrant was issued for her arrest.
On August 5, 2025, at approximately 16:30 hrs, the accused turned herself in at the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters on a catch and release warrant for failing to attend court. She was arrested and later released with conditions and a scheduled future court date of September 11, 2025.
