Attempt Murder- CK25051261

Date: August 26, 2025, Time: 08:30hrs Location: James Street, Blenheim

On August 26, 2025, a male employee was informed of his terminated from his job at a commercial business on James Street in Blenheim. After receiving the news, he became agitated and refused to leave the premises. During a confrontation with two supervisors, the situation escalated into a physical altercation.

The accused allegedly threatened one of the supervisors and used a knife and a hatchet during the struggle, resulting in multiple stab wounds and lacerations to two supervisors. At approximately 08:30 hours emergency services were called after a witness reported the incident, and police arrived shortly thereafter.

Both victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, while the accused was also treated before transported to police headquarters.

The 36-year-old Ridgetown man was arrested and charged with two counts of assault causing bodily harm, one count of using a weapon in a dangerous manner, and attempted murder. He was transported to police headquarters and is currently being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Robbery- CK25051303

Date: August 26, 2025, Time: 12:42hrs Location: Queen Street, Chatham

On August 26, 2025, a male suspect entered a retail store located on Queen Street in Chatham. While inside, he was observed by a witness concealing various items in his backpack and clothing.

When a store employee confronted the suspect about the theft, he retrieved a hammer from within the store and brandished it in a threatening manner. The accused then struck the employee with the hammer, causing a small abrasion to her hand, and threatened her. The suspect proceeded to exit the store.

Shortly after the incident, the 32-year-old Chatham-Kent man was located by police and placed under arrest. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and charged with theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and uttering threats to cause death. He is currently being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Break & Enter- CK25051326

Date: August 26, 2025, Time: 14:18hrs Location: Queen Street, Chatham

On August 26, 2025, at approximately 14:18 hours, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a break and enter at a residence on Woods Street in Chatham. A property manager discovered the back door was damaged and suspected a former tenant had unlawfully entered the home.

Officers conducted a search of the residence and located the former tenant in an upstairs bedroom.

The 60-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested for being unlawfully in a dwelling house and was taken to police headquarters. He is currently being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Robbery- CK25051432

Date: August 27, 2025, Time: 01:38hrs Location: McNaughton Avenue West, Chatham

On August 27, 2025, at approximately 01:38 hours, two masked males entered a convenience store on McNaughton Avenue West in Chatham, stole multiple cases of alcoholic beverages, and assaulted a store employee before fleeing in a vehicle. A female was also seen entering the store before the masked men and left with the suspects.

Police arrived shortly after the call, obtained video footage, and learned that the victim had sustained injuries, requiring transport to the hospital for treatment. Officers later located the suspects’ vehicle at a residence on Grand Avenue West in Chatham. 

At approximately 3:09 hours, all three suspects were arrested at the location and taken to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where they are currently being held in custody pending a bail hearing. The suspects, a 40-year-old woman from Blenheim, a 21-year-old man from Chatham-Kent, and a 20-year-old man from Chatham-Kent, face charges including robbery with theft and wearing a disguise with intent to commit a criminal offence.
