On Monday, August 17, 2026, at approximately 06:31 hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a residence on Hedge Maple Path in Chatham regarding an assault complaint.
Through investigation, officers learned that a verbal argument had taken place between two parties which had escalated to the accused pushing the victim, grabbing her by the arms and spitting on her multiple times.
The accused then fled the residence prior to police arrival. A short while later police located the accused and arrested him in relation to this incident.
As a result of the investigation a 20-year-old Chatham man has been charged with two counts of assault.
The accused was transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters where he was released on an undertaking with conditions and future court date of November 10, 2026.
