On April 9, 2026, at approximately 10:52 hrs., members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a residence on James Street in Wallaceburg regarding a break and enter.
Investigations revealed that the homeowner had discovered a smashed window and found an individual inside the residence. Upon arrival, officers located a 32-year-old female from Chatham-Kent matching the provided description.
As a result of the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with the following:
- Count 1: Mischief under $5,000
- Count 2: Break and Enter – With Intent to Commit Indictable Offence
The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where she was later released with conditions and a future court date of June 17, 2026.
Assault – CK26024915
Date: April 9, 2026, Time: 16:52 hrs., Location: King Street East, Chatham.
On April 9, 2026, at approximately 16:52 hrs., members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service were on general patrol when they observed a large group of people gathered at the intersection of Princess Street and King Street. Officers believed an altercation was underway but were initially unable to clearly view those involved due to the number of people present.
Police activated emergency equipment to alert those on scene and observed a 17-year-old youth assaulting another 17-year-old male youth, both from Chatham. The accused was seen on top of the victim, repeatedly striking him in the face.
Officers intervened immediately and arrested the accused. Officers formed reasonable grounds to charge the accused with the following:

The youth was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was later released with conditions and a future court date June 17, 2026.
Mischief – CK26024932
Date: April 9, 2026, Time: 15:40 hrs., Location: Wellington, Chatham
On April 9, 2026, at approximately 15:40 hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of an unwanted individual at a property located on Wellington Street West, Chatham.
Investigations revealed that a male had defaced the exterior wall of the building. Officers arrived and located a 39-year-old male from Chatham matching the description provided and walking away from the scene.
Further investigations also revealed that the accused was in breach of his court-ordered conditions to not attend within 100 metres of the location.
As a result of the investigation, the accused was charged with the following:
- Count 1: Mischief under $5000
- Count 2: Fail to Comply with Undertaking
The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was later released with conditions and a future court date of July 8, 2026.
