Date: April 30, 2026, 07:22hrs Location: St. Clair Street, Chatham
On April 30, 2026, at approximately 07:22hrs, Loss Prevention at retail store on St. Clair Street Chatham contacted Chatham-Kent Police Service to report an individual concealing items within the store.
The individual was located in the parking lot nearby and subsequently arrested. The suspect was also identified as being subject to two Form 11 release orders and one probation order, which prohibited him from attending the location.
A search incident to arrest revealed additional items.
The 55-year-old Chatham man was transported to police headquarters, where he is being held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges:
- Failure to comply with release order.
- Failure to comply with release order.
- Failure to comply with Probation order.
- Theft under $5000.00
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.00
Summary of Recent Arrests on Outstanding Warrants
Three individuals were arrested on outstanding warrants by Chatham-Kent Police Service over the past two days.
On April 30, 2026, at 10:13hrs, a 35-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested by Walpole Island Police on the strength of multiple Chatham-Kent warrants. He was transferred to Chatham-Kent Police Service and brought to headquarters for processing before being taken to court for bail. As a result, he was remanded into custody and transported to Southwest Regional Detention Center until his next court appearance on May 4, 2026.
Later that same day, at 23:19hrs, a 42-year-old Dresden man was taken into custody at 55 McNaughton Avenue, Wallaceburg, on the strength of a bench warrant. He was released on a Form 9 with a new court date of May 25, 2026.
In the early hours of May 1, 2026, at 00:02hrs, a 43-year-old Chatham woman was arrested in Chatham, also on the strength of a bench warrant. She was released on a Form 9 with a new court date of June 1, 2026.
