Breach of Release Order – CK26025807

Date: April 13, 2026, Time: 09:08 hrs., Location: Third Street, Chatham

On March 29, 2026, the man entered a Form 11 Release with conditions prohibiting any contact with a female, the victim, except under specific circumstances outlined by a family court order.

On April 7, 2026, at approximately 21:40 hrs, the victim received a group text message from the accused, which violated the terms of his release. 

Following the message, the victim reported the incident to the police. Through investigation, police confirmed the phone number belonged to the accused.

Based on the victim’s statement and evidence gathered, police established reasonable grounds for the charge of failure to comply with a release order, as outlined in section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code.

On April 13, 2026, the 36-year-old Bothwell man was arrested and is currently held for bail.

Assault with a Weapon – CK26025951

Date: April 13, 2026, Time: 09:08 hrs., Location: Third Street, Chatham

On April 13, 2026, at approximately 19:56 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police responded to a disturbance at an apartment building on Talbot St W, Blenheim. 

Upon arrival, officers learned that the accused had thrown a security camera and an ashtray at another tenant. The tenant did not sustain injury, but the security camera was damaged.

The accused was found distressed outside the building and transported to the hospital for assistance.

The 37-year-old Blenheim woman was arrested for two counts of assault with a weapon and one count of mischief. She was subsequently transported to police headquarters and later released on a Form 10 with a future court date.
