The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 72 hours. Below is a summary of the key events, including arrests, investigations, and other notable occurrences.

B&E Commercial – CK25048858

Date: August 15, 2025, Time: 09:46hrs, Location: King St., Wallaceburg

On August 15, 2025, at approximately 09:46 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a break and enter at a commercial building on King Street, Wallaceburg. Surveillance footage showed a male suspect forcing entry into a storage container and removing items.

Upon investigation, officers identified the suspect from surveillance footage. They later attended a residence in Wallaceburg and located the individual, a 46-year-old male from Chatham-Kent, who fled on foot upon police arrival.

On August 16, 2025, the suspect was located and arrested by the Chatham-Kent Police Service. The individual has been charged with the following offences:

  • Count 1: Break and Enter and Commit Theft $5,000
  • Count 2: Theft Under $5000
  • Count 3: Possession of property under $5,000

The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he is held for bail.

Arrest/Mischief & Threats – CK25049305

Date: August 16, 2025, Time: 03:52hrs., Location: Talbot Trail, Wheatley

On August 16, 2025, at approximately 03:52 hrs, the Chatham-Kent-Police Service responded to a disturbance involving threats and property damage at a residence in Wheatley.

Upon arrival, officers observed visible damage to the residence. Through investigation, it was determined that an individual had been sending threatening text messages and causing property damage. These threats and actions were targeted towards the occupants of the residence.

The accused, a 21-year-old male from Tilbury was located and arrested. He has been charged with the following:

  • Count 1: Uttering Threats
  • Count 2: Mischief over $5,000
  • Count 3: Fail to Comply with Probation Order

He was transported to South West Detention Centre (SWDC), where he will remain in custody until his next scheduled video court appearance on August 18, 2025.

Arrest/Failure to Comply – CK25049470

Date: August 17, 2025, Time: 01:22hrs., Location: Wills Street, Wallaceburg

On October 7, 2024, a 43-year-old male from Camden Township was released with conditions after being charged with break and enter, along with possession of property obtained crime over $5,000. As part of his release conditions, several conditions were imposed, including a requirement to reside at a designated residence during specific hours.

On August 17, 2025, at approximately 01:22 hrs, while Chatham-Kent Police Service officers were on patrol in the Wallaceburg area, the individual was located and found to be breaching the conditions of his release order.

The individual was located outside of his residence and was arrested. He was charged with the following:

Count 1: Fail to Comply with a Release Order

Subsequently, he was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where is currently being held for bail.
