ECO Kayla Johnson – Emergency Communications Branch
I grew up with family in law enforcement, and I never really saw myself following in my father’s footsteps until my late 20s. I have been working as an ECO since October of 2020. I grew up in Lakeshore and have been there my whole life. I moved to Chatham-Kent with my husband in 2017, just before we got married. I had worked as a Medical Esthetician in Belle River for many years, and when I made the move to Chatham, I opened a salon called Pink Polish.
My days as a salon owner allowed me to build so many special relationships with other female entrepreneurs and members of the community. I cherish those relationships and memories very much. About a month before my salon closed permanently for me to start my new position as ECO, I was awarded Best Esthetic Salon in Chatham-Kent. A title I am so very proud of.
I spend most of my days now with the new title of “Mommy,” running around with my twin daughters. They keep my heart and calendar full always. They remind me daily why I chose to do this job and serve my community. The community I am proud to be a part of and raise my family in.
