Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 156 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Three people were arrested and one was on an outstanding warrant.
Residential Break and Enter and Theft in Chatham- CK24047152
On Sunday, September 22nd, 2024, Chatham-Kent Police received a report of a residential break and enter in the area of Taylor Avenue in Chatham, that took place sometime over a five-day period.
Unknown suspect(s) attended the address and entered a detached garage on the property. Exact items taken are unknown at this time. This investigation is still ongoing.

Man Arrested for Assault Cause Bodily Harm- CK24047122
On Sunday, September 22nd, 2024, at approximately 10:00 a.m., a 53-year-old Chatham man was located and arrested as a result of an assault investigation dating back to June.
The 53-year-old man was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for processing and was later released with conditions and a future court date of October 21st, 2024.
Man Arrested on Warrants- CK24047207
On Sunday, September 22nd, 2024, at approximately 7:00p.m., a 40-year-old man from outside of Chatham-Kent, turned himself in at Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and was arrested on strength of an outstanding warrant in relation to an assault investigation.
The 40-year-old man was held for processing, and shortly after was released from police custody with a future court date of October 28th, 2024.
Chatham Man Arrested for Bail Violation – CK24047227
On Sunday, September 22nd, 2024, at approximately 10:30p.m., Chatham-Kent Police received a report of a 35-year-old man who was breaching his conditions by being outside of his residence without his surety.
Shortly after, officers located the 35-year-old man in the area of King Street East, Chatham. He was arrested for failing to comply with release order and while being searched subsequent to his arrest, he was found to be in possession of a controlled substance.
The 35-year-old Chatham man was then arrested for being in possession of a schedule I substance, and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters, where he was processed and held pending a bail hearing on Monday, September 23, 2024 facing the charges of failing to comply with release order and possession of a schedule I substance.
Commercial Break and Enter in Chatham- CK24047250
While on general patrol on Monday, September 23, 2024 at approximately 3:12 a.m., an officer observed that the front window of commercial business on King Street West, Chatham had been smashed. Police also observed a cash drawer was located in the vicinity.
Police cleared the interior of the business and observed that everything was in order other than the missing cash drawer. The owner confirmed that no other damage was caused, and only the monetary funds from the cash drawer were taken.
Estimated damage and loss was approximately $1,100.
This investigation is still ongoing.
