Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 195 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Four people were arrested and three were on outstanding warrants.
Domestic – CK24045486
On Saturday, September 14th, 2024, Chatham-Kent Police entered into an investigation regarding allegations of historical intimate partner violence related offences. Throughout the investigation, reasonable grounds were formed for the arrest of a 19-year-old Chatham man.
The 19-year-old Chatham man was located at his residence, advised of the investigation, and arrested without incident. He was charged with four counts of assault. A search incident to arrest was conducted and police located a pair of brass knuckles in the man’s possession. He was additionally charged with Possession of a prohibited weapon.
The 19-year-old Chatham man was released from custody on an undertaking with a future court date of October 21st, 2024.

On the Saturday, September 14th, 2024, police responded to the area of Grand Avenue West for a suspicious person complaint. Officers located the subject male and upon querying him, learned that there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest for failing to attend court.
The 29-year-old Chatham man was placed under arrest without incident and released on scene on an appearance notice with a future court date.

On Saturday, September 14th, 2024, police were in the area of Wellington St W in Chatham and observed a male party known to police. The male was believed to have an outstanding arrest warrant held by the Chatham-Kent Police Service.
The man was queried, and the arrest warrant was confirmed as the male failed to attend court.
The 54-year-old Chatham man was arrested without incident and transported to police headquarters where he was held in custody for a bail hearing.

In the early hours of Sunday, September 15, 2024, police were conducting general patrol in the town of Wallaceburg when they located a man known to police.
As police believed there was an outstanding arrest warrant for the man, a query was done and it was confirmed the man had an outstanding warrant for the offence of criminal harassment.
The 25-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested without incident, transported to police headquarters for processing, and released by way of an undertaking with a future court.
