Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 265 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Five people were arrested and two were on outstanding warrants.
Assist OPP- CK24050060
On Monday, October 7, 2024, at approximately 6:20 a.m., OPP located a vehicle that had been involved in a break and enter within their jurisdiction.
Three individuals fled from the vehicle; however, one was arrested. OPP contacted Chatham-Kent Police officers requesting assistance. As a result of the collaborative efforts, the two other individuals were located and arrested, and transported by OPP for processing.
Wheatley Man Arrested for Intimate Partner Violence – CK24050040 / CK24050096
On October 7, 2024, at 12:59 a.m., Chatham-Kent Police responded to a residence on Moore Street, Wheatley for a report of intimate partner violence. Upon police arrival, the accused had fled the scene and was not located.
Upon investigating this matter, a 25-year-old Wheatley male was wanted for several charges, including assault, and uttering threats.
Later, at approximately 10:45 a.m., officers located the male party at his residence.
The 25-year-old man was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for processing, pending a bail hearing. As a result of the bail hearing, he was remanded into custody with a future court date.
Windsor Man Arrested for Outstanding Warrant – CK24050147
On Monday, October 7, 2024, at 3:45 p.m., Chatham-Kent Police received information from Southwest Detention Centre of the release of a 27-year-old Windsor man, which held outstanding warrants issued by Chatham-Kent Police Service in relation to an intimate partner violence investigation.
Officers attended and arrested him on the strength of the outstanding warrants. He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for processing and held pending a bail hearing on October 8, 2024.
