Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 263 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Five people were arrested.
Man Arrested for Breaking and Entering (CK24052643)
On October 18th, 2024, at approximately 12:19 p.m., police received a report of an active break and enter into a residence on Colborne Street in Chatham. Officers immediately attended to the residence and located a male suspect still inside the dwelling, who attempted to flee from police upon discovery. The male was taken into custody a short distance away and arrested for Break and Enter. The 39-year-old Blenheim, ON man was ultimately transported to police headquarters and held in custody pending a show cause bail hearing.
Man Arrested for Failing to Attend Court (CK24052715 / RM24000744)
Between 2021 and 2022, a 37-year-old Windsor, ON man was charged with multiple offences that occurred within the Municipality of Chatham-Kent during this time period. These offences include Publication of an Intimate Image Without Consent (two counts), Voyeurism (two counts), Sexual Assault, and Fail to Attend Court. In March of 2024, a warrant was submitted for the arrest of this man after he again failed to attend court in relation to these charges.
At approximately 8:12 p.m. on October 18th, 2024, members of the Windsor Police Service located the man in their jurisdiction and arrested him on the strength of this warrant. The man was ultimately transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters, where he was held in custody pending a show cause bail hearing. The man was also charged with an additional count of Fail to Attend Court.
Man Arrested for Failing to Comply with Release Order (CK24052455)
On October 18th, 2024, at approximately 8:15 a.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service received a request from the London Police Service to locate a man in the municipality wanted for five counts of Fail to Comply with Release Order. Through investigation, officers were able to locate the man in the area of Keil Drive South, Chatham, and at approximately 8:34 a.m., he was placed under arrest without incident. Custody of the 36-year-old Chatham man was later transferred to the London Police Service for processing.
