Man Arrested on Multiple Charges

On 2024-11-15 the Chatham-Kent Police were notified of a possible bail violation via GPS monitor tampering. Shortly after this notification a 911 call was received from an address in Charing Cross. The subject of the GPS monitor; 43-year-old man; was acting disruptive in his residence. The man assaulted two others then broke a window at the residence and fled. Responding officers quickly located the man and facilitated an arrest. The man was charged with Assault x2, Mischief Under $5000 and Fail to Comply with a Release Order x2. The man was held pending bail.
Man Arrested for Impaired Driving

On 2024-11-15 the Chatham-Kent Police responded to a motor vehicle collision in Raleigh Township. A single motor vehicle had left the road and struck three trees before coming to a stop. The driver of the vehicle was identified as a 73-year-old Leamington man. Through investigation the man was suspected to be intoxicated by alcohol. The man was arrested for Impaired Driving and taken the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters to provide breath samples. The breath samples were in excess of the legal limit of 80mg/100mL.
72-year-old John IMPENS of Leamington was additionally charged with Over 80. IMPENS was released when sober with a future court date.
