Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 180 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Six people were arrested.
Man Arrested for Breaching Conditional Sentence Order (CK24019818)
On May 3rd, 2024 at approximately 5:04 p.m., police responded to a report of an unwanted man on the premise of a property on King Street East in Chatham. Upon arrival, investigating officers learned that the man was subject to a conditional sentence order, stipulating that he remain in his residence at all times with the exception of attending specific appointments. Police determined that the man was in violation of this condition, at which time he was placed under arrest without incident.
The 28-year-old Chatham man was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters to appear before a Justice of the Peace the following morning.
Woman Arrested for Intimate Partner Violence (CK24019893)
On May 4th, 2024 at approximately 1:30 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute in the area of Forhan Street in Wallaceburg. Through investigation, police determined that a man and woman had engaged in a verbal argument which eventually escalated to the point of turning physical. The woman was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with assault for choking the man, who had sustained visible injuries as result of the altercation.
The 40-year-old Wallaceburg woman was transported to police headquarters where she was later released on an Undertaking with conditions and a future court date.
Break and Enter in Chatham (CK24019732)
Sometime between May 2nd, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. and May 3rd, 2024 at 7:00 a.m., unknown suspect(s) gained entry into a secure warehouse on the property of 205 King Street East, Chatham. Once inside, several items of value were taken by the suspect(s) before fleeing from the property. Approximately $500 in damage was sustained to the building as a result of the forced entry.
