Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 214 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Seven people were arrested and four were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Robbery CK24022886
At 10:18 a.m., the man attended the Ontario Court of Justice on Grand Avenue West in Chatham. Officers confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant related to a May 9, 2024, robbery investigation in Chatham.
The 62-year-old Chatham man was arrested and held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: failing to comply with a release order and robbery.
Man Arrested for Theft CK24023010
On May 20, 2024, at 5:40 p.m., police responded to Lafontaine Street in Wallaceburg for a theft investigation.
The officer learned a man attended the address and stole fishing poles. The man was identified via surveillance footage.
On May 21, 2024, at 7:31 p.m., the investigating officer located the man on Reaume Avenue in Wallaceburg and arrested him. He was charged with theft and possession of stolen property. He was released with a future court date of June 10, 2024.
Man Arrested for Public Intoxication CK24023011
At 7:35 p.m., police responded to an unrelated matter on Emma Street in Chatham and located an intoxicated man. The man was unable to care for himself.
The 32-year-old Chatham Township man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held until sober. He was issued a Provincial Offences Notice for public intoxication.
Man Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24023014
At 8:28 p.m., police responded to Talbot Street in Blenheim for a disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers located the man and confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to several offences under the Criminal Code of Canada and Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.
The 28-year-old Blenheim man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: failing to attend court, possession of stolen property, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm/ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Woman Arrested for Assault CK24023026
At 9:56 p.m., police responded to King Street West in Chatham for a family dispute.
Police learned a verbal argument escalated when the woman struck the man several times.
The 25-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was released with conditions and a future court date of June 24, 2024. She was charged with assault.
Woman Issued 3-Day License Suspension CK24023028
At 10:05 p.m., police responded to St. Clair Road in Chatham Township for a traffic complaint. Police were advised the vehicle was swerving on the roadway.
Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The officer believed the woman driving was under the influence of alcohol and performed a roadside breath test. She was arrested and transported to police headquarters for further tests.
The 33-year-old Chatham woman received a 3-day license suspension and was released.
Woman Arrested for Mischief CK24023055
On May 22, 2024, at 2:56 a.m., while on general patrol, an officer observed the woman riding a bicycle on Prospect Street in Tilbury. The officer recognized the woman from previous encounters.
The officer confirmed the woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant in relation to a mischief investigation.
The 43-year-old Tilbury woman was arrested and released with a future court date of June 24, 2024.
