Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 195 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Five people was arrested and three were on outstanding warrants.
Woman Arrested for Theft CK24025896
At 9:03 a.m. police responded to a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham to conduct a well-being check on a woman who was reported to be slumped over in the parking lot.
Officers attended and confirmed the woman was wanted for a May 24, 2024, theft investigation on Wellington Street West in Chatham.
The 51-year-old Chatham Kent woman was arrested and released with a future court date of July 8, 2024. She was charged with theft and possession of stolen property.
Woman Arrested for Bail Violations CK24025900
At 9:36 a.m., police responded to Tweedsmuir Avenue West in Chatham for a disturbance.
Officer arrived and located the woman. Through investigation, officers learned on May 31, 2024, the woman had been released by the court with a condition prohibiting her from attending the address.
The 29-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was held pending a bail hearing. She is currently facing the following charges: failing to comply with a release order, assault, break and enter, mischief and obstruct police two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking and two counts of failing to attend court.
Man Arrested for Stolen Vehicle CK24025915
At 9:55 a.m., police responded to Maryknoll Road in Chatham for a report of a stolen vehicle.
While the officer was speaking with the vehicle owner, they were advised the vehicle was recovered on Forsyth Street in Chatham.
Through investigation, the officers identified the man who had been in possession of the vehicle and located him a short distance away. Officers also confirmed he was wanted on several outstanding warrants.
The 30-year-old Chatham Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: failing to comply with a probation order, failing to comply with obligations under section 490.02911 (SOIRA), failing to comply with the sex offender registry, unauthorized use of a credit card, failing to attend court, possession of stolen property and theft of a motor vehicle.
Youth Arrested for Assault CK24016029
At 10:14 p.m., police responded to Delaware Avenue in Chatham for an assault investigation.
Through investigation officers learned the youth and two women engaged in a verbal argument that escalated when the youth pushed the women.
The 16-year-old female youth was arrested and released with a future court date. She was charged with two counts of assault.
Man Arrested on an Outstanding Warrant CK24026055
On June 7, 2024, at 1:22 a.m., police located the man on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg. Officer confirmed the man was wanted by the Ontario Provincial Police and arrested him.
The 33-year-old Wallaceburg man was released to the Ontario Provincial Police.
