Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 208 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Five people were arrested and three were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested on a Warrant CK24027998
At 2:36 p.m., police located the man on Baxter Street in Chatham.
The man was wanted on a Surety Relief Warrant in relation to an April 2024 assault investigation in Chatham.
The 60-year-old Chatham man was transported to the Ontario Court of Justice on Grand Avenue West for a bail hearing. As a result, he was remanded into custody until his next court appearance on June 20, 2024. He is currently facing the following charges: assault with a weapon, uttering threats and two counts of assault.
Man Arrested on a DNA Warrant CK24028006
At 2:57 p.m., the man attended the Ontario Court of Justice. Officers confirmed the man was wanted on a DNA warrant in relation to a sexual interference conviction.
The 24-year-old Chatham man was arrested, processed, and released.
Man Arrested for Uttering Threats CK24028055
At 7:01 p.m., police responded to Middle Line in Blenheim for a disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers learned a verbal altercation occurred where one man made comments to harm the other man’s family.
The 37-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date of July 22, 2024. He has been charged with uttering threats.
Man Arrested for Probation Violation CK24028075
At 8:55 p.m., police located the man on Wellington Street in Chatham. Officers confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant in relation to a March 2024 probation violation investigation.
The 41-year-old Chatham man was arrested and released with a future court date. He is currently facing the following charges: failing to comply with a probation order.
Man Arrested for Break and Enter CK24028103
On June 18, 2024, at 1:22 a.m., police responded to Wellington Street in Chatham after receiving information a man was observed breaking into a business.
Officers arrived and located the man inside the business with merchandise in his hands. The glass in the front door of the business had been smashed and the man had visible injuries consistent with the damage observed. Officers also learned the man was bound by conditions of a probation order not to attend the location.
The 29-year-old Chatham Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: break-and-enter and failing to comply with a probation order.
