Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 151 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Five people was arrested and three were on outstanding warrants.
Woman Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24031863
At 9:32 a.m., Ontario Provincial Police – Lambton advised they had a woman in custody wanted on a warrant held by the Chatham-Kent Police Service. The woman was wanted for failing to attend court in relation to theft investigations.
The 46-year-old Walpole Island woman was transported to police headquarters, where she was held pending a bail hearing. The woman currently faces the following charges: three counts of theft, three counts of possession of stolen property and three counts of failing to attend court.
Woman Arrested for Mischief CK24031912
At 1:47 p.m., police responded to Hughes Street in Dresden for a break-and-enter.
Upon arrival officers learned the woman entered the building then an apartment. The woman had been trespassed from the property earlier in the day.
The 42-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and charged with mischief and trespassing. She was transported to police headquarters, where she was released with conditions and a future court date of August 19, 2024.
Woman Arrested for Probation Violation CK24031942
On July 11, 2024, the woman was released by the court on a Conditional Sentence order with specific conditions, which included remaining in her residence at all times, refraining from the purchase, possession or consumption of alcohol or other intoxicating substances, and wearing a GPS monitoring device.
At 4:54 p.m., police were advised an alert was received from the GPS monitoring device indicating tampering with the device. This prompted officers to investigate.
At 6:30 p.m. police located the woman at her residence in Shrewsbury. She was intoxicated and was no longer wearing the device.
The 55-year-old Shrewsbury woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was held pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested on Warrants CK24031969/CK24031972
At 9:09 p.m., police responded to William Street North in Chatham to investigate suspicious activity. The man and woman were canvassing the area for concrete work opportunities.
Upon arrival, officers located the man and the woman. The woman was wanted for failing to attend court in relation to a September 2023 assault investigation in Chatham. The man was wanted by CKPS, Owen Sound Police and Saugeen Shores Police.
The 51-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date of August 12, 2024. He is currently facing the following charges: fraud.
The 31-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and released with a future court date of July 29, 2024. She is currently facing the following charges: assault with a weapon.
