Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 169 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Six people was arrested and two were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Theft CK24031665
At 9:08 a.m., police responded to Dashwheel Road in Tilbury East Township for a break-and-enter investigation.
Officers learned the complainant found a man and a woman attempting to break into his vehicle. The individuals fled on bicycles when confronted. The complainant followed the two and provided officers with a description and location of their last known whereabouts.
Officer located the man on Queen Street North and arrested him. He was charged with theft under $5000 and released with a future court date.
Man Arrested for Bail Violations CK24031708
At 12:33 p.m., police began a bail violation investigation in Tilbury.
The man had been released by the court with conditions prohibiting him from being outside his residence without his surety. When the man fled from his surety, he breached this condition.
The 37-year-old Tilbury man was later located and arrested. He was transported to police headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing. He has been charged with failing to comply with a release order.
Woman Arrested on an Outstanding Warrant CK24031730
At 3:21 p.m., police located the woman on Fork Street in Wallaceburg and confirmed she was wanted on an outstanding warrant related to a June 30, 2024, assault investigation on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg.
The 27-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was released with conditions and a future court date of August 12, 2024. She has been charged with assault, theft, possession of stolen property and mischief.
Man Arrested for Assault CK24031740
On July 6, 2024, at 11:37 p.m., police responded to King Street in Chatham for an assault investigation.
Officers learned the woman attended the man’s home to collect personal property. They engaged in an argument resulting in the man assaulting the woman. The man continued the argument by blocking the woman from leaving and making threatening comments. Officers also learned the man was on conditions not to communicate with the woman as a result of a previous investigation. The woman was aware of the conditions.
As a result of the investigation, both the man and the woman were arrested.
The 19-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was released with conditions and a future court date of August 12, 2024. She has been charged with failing to comply with an undertaking – facilitation.
On July 7, 2024, at 4:22 p.m., the 21- year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date of August 12, 2024. He has been charged with failing to comply with an undertaking, assault, uttering threats, and forcible confinement.
Man Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24031756
At 6:39 p.m., police observed the man on Superior Street in Tilbury. Officers knew the man from previous encounters and confirmed he was wanted for failing to attend court in relation to several incidents.
The 23-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: trespassing, possession of stolen property, impaired driving, possession of a controlled substance and failing to attend court.
