Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 147 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Six people was arrested, and one was on outstanding warrants.
Chatham Man Arrested for Assault- CK24033037
At 6:54 p.m. on July 14th,2024, police responded to a family dispute in Chatham.
Officers learned the man and his grandmother engaged in a verbal argument that escalated when the man made comments to harm his grandmother and proceeded to assault her.
The 25-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing in front of a Judge.
He has been charged with assault and uttering threats.
Wallaceburg Man Arrested on an Outstanding Warrant- CK24033089
At 01:41 a.m. on July 15, 2024, police located the man on Base Line in Wallaceburg and confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding bench warrant for failing to attend court in relation to an April 24th, 2024, theft of a motor vehicle and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 investigation in Chatham.
The 41-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and released with a future court date of August 12th, 2024.
Woman Arrested for Failing to Comply with Release Order – CK24033093
On April 10th, 2024, the woman was released by the court on a Release Order with specific conditions, which included to reside at a specific address in Ridgetown while also wearing a GPS monitoring device.
At 02:20 a.m. on July 15, 2024, police were advised an alert was received from the GPS monitoring device indicating the woman had left the address she was to reside at. This prompted officers to investigate.
At 02:54 a.m. police located the woman at a different address in Ridgetown.
The 40-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and transported back to the address she was to reside at with supervision; released with a future court date of July 29th, 2024, for failing to comply with her conditions.
