Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 144 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Eight people were arrested and four were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Threats CK24032019
At 9:21 a.m., the man attended Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and turned himself in to the police. The man was wanted on a warrant in regard to a July 7, 2024, bail violation investigation and a July 9, 2024, neighbour dispute investigation.
The 60-year-old Chatham Township man was released with conditions and a future court date of August 19, 2024. He currently faces the following charges: breach of recognizance and uttering threats.
Woman Arrested for Failing to Comply CK24032024
At 9:40 a.m., police responded to Hughes Street in Dresden for a bail violations investigation.
The woman had been arrested on July 8, 2024, and released with conditions prohibiting her from attending the residence.
The 42-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was held pending a bail hearing. She currently faces the following charges: mischief and failing to comply with an undertaking.
As a result of the bail hearing, she was remanded into custody and transported to Southwest Regional Detention Centre. Her next court appearance is scheduled for July 19, 2024.
Woman Arrested for Robbery CK24032030
At 10:16 a.m., police responded to a retail store on Communication Road in Blenheim regarding a theft and assault.
Through investigation officers learned the woman entered the store and concealed items on her person. She attempted to leave without paying for the merchandise and was confronted by an employee. The woman pushed pass the employee, causing them to fall. The incident resulted in minor physical injury.
The woman left prior to police arrival but was located a short distance away. Officers confirmed she was also wanted on a warrant related to a June 25, 2024, theft investigation in Chatham.
The 28-year-old Harwich Township woman was transported to police headquarters, where she was held pending a bail hearing. She currently faces the following charges: robbery, two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking, three counts of theft, and four counts of possession of stolen property.
As a result of the bail hearing, she was remanded into custody and transported to Southwest Regional Detention Center. Her next court appearance is scheduled for July 15, 2024.
Man Arrested for Criminal Harassment CK24032077
At 5:54 p.m., the man attended Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and turned himself in to the police. The man was wanted on a warrant in relation to a June 27, 2024, harassment investigation in Chatham.
The 45-year-old Chatham man was released with conditions and a future court date of August 18, 2024. He currently faces the following charges: two counts of criminal harassment.
