Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 280 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Four people were arrested and two were on outstanding warrants.
Woman Arrested for Theft CK24040892
At 4:08 p.m., the woman attended the Ontario Court of Justice. An officer confirmed the woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant from a July 27, 2024, theft investigation in Chatham.
The 26-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and released with conditions and a future court date of September 23, 2024. She has been charged with failing to comply with a release order and theft.
Man Arrested for Mischief CK24040947
At 8:06 p.m., police located the man on Murray Street in Wallaceburg. The officer confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to a July 29, 2024, mischief investigation.
The 49-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date of September 23, 2024. He is currently facing the following charges: mischief.
Man Arrested for Break and Enter CK24041009
On August 27, 2024, at 1:18 a.m., an officer on general patrol noticed two men on Lowe Avenue in Wallaceburg with several boxes of ice cream.
Further investigation revealed a local business had been broken into which prompted the officer to search the area for the two men.
The 64-year-old Chatham-Kent man was located a short distance away and arrested. He was transported to police headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date of September 23, 2024. He has been charged with break and enter.
The second man is outstanding.
Man Arrested for Assault CK24041081
On August 26, 2024, officers responded to Pearl Crescent in Chatham for a disturbance.
Through investigation, officers learned of a recent incident where a verbal argument escalated into the man assaulting the woman. The man left prior to police arrival.
On August 27, 2024, at 5:30 a.m., the man attended police headquarters and turned himself in to the police.
The 37-year-old Chatham man was arrested and held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: assault with a weapon and two counts of assault.
