Break and Enter in Chatham- CK24036135
Sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) forced entry into a church in the area of Lacroix Street in Chatham. The unknown suspect(s) entered through a window, causing approximately $200 in damage. This investigation is ongoing.

Chatham Man Arrested for a Probation Violation- CK24036141
At approximately 8:50 a.m., on August 1, 2024, Chatham-Kent Police were contacted by a business in the area of Tecumseh Road in Chatham, advising that an unwanted male was on their property, who had been trespassed previously and on conditions not to attend.
Upon arrival, officers located the 49-year-old Chatham male on the property and placed him under arrest for one count of failing to comply with probation order.
The 49-year-old Chatham man was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for processing and was later released with a future court date of September 9, 2024.
Two Chatham Men Arrested for Possession of Stolen Property- CK24036145
On August 1, 2024 at approximately 7:30 a.m., Chatham-Kent Police received a report of two 150-year-old door handles that were removed from a church in the area of Wellington Street in Chatham.
Investigation led to the arrest of one 38-year-old man, and a 31-year-old man both from Chatham and known to police, who were identified to be the ones in possession of the stolen property.
Upon arrest, the 31-year-old man resisted arrest, which led to a subsequent charge of resist arrest of peace officer, and while conducting a search incident to arrest, officers found the 31-year-old man to be in possession of an illegal substance under the Controlled Drug and Substance Act.
As a result of these findings, the 31-year-old man was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for processing and later released on conditions and future court date of September 12, 2024, facing the following charges: possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, resist peace officer, and possession of a schedule I substance.
The 38-year-old man was released on scene with a future court date of August 19th, 2024, facing one count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Chatham Man Arrested on Warrants- CK24036151
On August 1st, 2024, at approximately 9:45 a.m., a 45-year-old Chatham man was located by a Chatham-Kent Police officer, and arrested on the strength of several Chatham-Kent Police warrants in connection to various separate investigations.
The 45-year-old Chatham man was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and held in police custody pending a bail hearing, which then resulted in the man being released with a future court date of August 15th, 2024.
Man Arrested for Intimate Partner Violence- CK24036153
On August 1st, 2024, at approximately 9:50 a.m., Chatham-Kent Police received a report of an incident involving intimate partner violence in Chatham involving a 31-year-old Chatham man and a 24-year-old Chatham woman.
Through investigation, officers learned a 31-year-old Chatham man assaulted and threatened his former girlfriend’s life, while also destroying some of her property.
The 31-year-old Chatham man was located and arrested. He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for processing and later on released with conditions and a future court date of September 9, 2024.
He has been charged with assault, assault cause bodily harm, uttering threats and mischief under $5,000.
Woman Arrested for Intimate Partner Violence- CK24036223
On August 1st, 2024, at approximately 7:15 p.m., Chatham-Kent Police received a report of an incident involving intimate partner violence in Chatham involving a 63-year-old Chatham woman and a 41-year-old Chatham man.
Through investigation, officers learned a 63-year-old Chatham woman assaulted her former boyfriend.
The 63-year-old Chatham woman was located and arrested. She attended the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for processing and later on released with conditions and a future court date of September 16,2024.
She has been charged with one count of domestic related assault.
Man Arrested for Impaired Driving- CK24036304
In the early morning of August 2, 2024, at approximately 1:50 am., Chatham-Kent Police responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Base Line Road in Wallaceburg. Information was received from various callers that a vehicle was driving erratically and believe it had been in a collision as a result of hearing a loud crash.
Officers located the vehicle and the driver. The officer believed the 25-year-old Chatham man driving to be under the influence of alcohol and arrested him. He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for processing and a breath test.
The 25-year-old Chatham man was charged with impaired driving and having a blood alcohol level exceeding the legal limit. He was later released with conditions and a future court date of August 12,2024. His vehicle was impounded for 7 days, and his license was suspended for 90 days.
