Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 185 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Three people were arrested, and two were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested on a DNA Warrant CK24038100
At 8:25 a.m., the man attended police headquarters and turned himself in to the police.
The 45-year-old Chatham man was processed and released.
Youth Arrested for Failing to Attend Court RM24002524
On June 4, 2024, the female youth was arrested and released with a future court date as a result of an assault investigation. When she failed to make a court appearance, a warrant was issued for her arrest.
On August 12, 2024, at 12:02 p.m., the youth attended the Ontario Court of Justice on Grand Avenue West in Chatham and turned herself in to the police.
The 17-year-old Chatham youth was released with a new court date of August 19, 2024. She is currently facing the following charges: assault.
Man Arrested for Weapon Offences CK24038224
At 7:48 p.m., police responded to a weapons investigation on Grand Avenue East in Chatham. A man was observed running in the area with what appeared to be an AK47.
Officer arrived and located a man with a firearm. The man was taken into custody and the weapon was secured. The firearm was found to be an airsoft rifle resembling an automatic firearm. The man was also confirmed to be bound by a weapons prohibition order.
The 47-year-old Chatham man was arrested and released with a future court date.
