Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 170 calls for service in the last 24 hours. 1 person was arrested.
Motor Vehicle Collision on Queens Line CK24061767
Yesterday at approximately 5:30 p.m. police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Queens Line near Drake Road.
A westbound vehicle drove off the roadway to the south ditch of Queens Line and entered the water filled ditch. Officers, first on scene, entered the water and assisted the driver to safety. Queens Line was temporarily closed while tow trucks removed the vehicle from the water.
The vehicle was removed from the ditch, and Queens Line was reopened. The driver was unharmed in this incident. The Chatham-Kent Police would like to remind drivers that road conditions can change quickly and to stay alert for any changes.
Women Arrested for Theft and Possession – CK24061754
Yesterday at approximately 6:15 p.m. officers were called to Walmart on St. Clair Street in Chatham for a theft investigation.
Upon arrival, police learned the women left Walmart with a full cart of groceries. They were quickly located, each were arrested and charged with Theft Under $5,000 and Possession of Stolen Property and later released from custody with a future court date to answer to the charges.
