Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 168 calls for service in the last 24 hours. 5 people were arrested.
Breach of Probation – CK24051825
On October 14, 2024, shortly before 3:00pm, the Chatham-Kent Police Service received a call for service regarding a breach of probation call who was in the backyard of a residence on Regent Street in Blenheim.
When responding officers arrived on scene, they located a female inside the gated back yard of the residence walking back and forth.
Officers were aware that the female who was currently on probation with conditions not to be at the residence therefore, a 24-year-old Blenheim female was arrested for failing to comply with her probation order. she was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters where she was held pending a bail hearing.
Warrants – CK24051845
On October 14, 2024, at 5:23pm, Officers on general uniform patrol located a male party on Richmond Street in Chatham, Ontario. Officers were aware that the male party had a warrant. A person stop was conducted and through investigation it was determined that the male party was indeed the subject of a warrant for his arrest.
A 40-year-old male party was arrested for this outstanding warrant. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing.
Warrants – CK24051868
Shortly after 8:00pm on October 14, 2024, police were on general uniform patrol within the city of Chatham. Officers located a male party whom they believed had a warrant for his arrest walking down Grand Avenue East in Chatham.
The male party was stopped, and further investigation revealed that the male party was currently wanted on the strength of a warrant.
A 40-year-old Chatham man was arrested on scene, the male party was released on a future court date on scene and sent on his way.
Motor Vehicle Collision – CK24051911
On October 15, 2024, at approximately 01:37hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service received a call for service regarding a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Merlin Road, and Talbot Trail.
Upon arrival, responding officers located three male parties in the vehicle with serious injuries. Two males were able to exit the vehicle themselves, with the third male trapped in his vehicle as injuries prevented him from exiting.
Once emergency services arrived on scene, it was determined that one of the passengers would be flown by Ornge Air Ambulance to a hospital for further medical treatment.
Through investigation it was determined that the driver, a 27-year-old male party was believed to be intoxicated. The 27-year-old male was arrested on scene for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters where he was tested for breath samples, booked, and lodged. The male was released on a Form 10 undertaking with conditions and a future court date.
