Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 132 calls for service in the last 24 hours. 6 people were arrested.
Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision – Talbot Trail @ Goulet Road and Kendall Road – CK24051599
On October 13, 2024, at approximately 10:35am, the Chatham-Kent Police Service received a call for service regarding a motor vehicle collision on Talbot Trail between Goulet Road, and Kendall Road.
Responding officers attended the area and located the involved vehicles with extensive damage.
The driver of one of the vehicles (a 37-year-old Merlin male) was pronounced deceased on scene, two occupants from the second vehicle were transported to hospital with significant non-life-threatening injury.
This investigating is on-going, and the name of the deceased will not be released at this time out of respect for the family’s privacy.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of this young man, as well as to everyone impacted by this tragic collision.

Warrants – CK24051679.
On October 13, 2024, at approximately 8:23pm Police were on general uniform patrol on Murray Street, in Wallaceburg. Uniform officers located a female party walking down the street and were aware that she had a warrant for her arrest.
Responding officer stopped the female party and placed her under arrest. That female party (a 32-year-old female) was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where she was held pending a bail hearing.
Break and enter – CK24051624.
On October 13, 2024, at approximately 2:14pm, the Chatham-Kent Police Service was contacted regarding a break and enter complaint within the city of Chatham, Ontario.
It is believed that a male party entered through a coded door and removed approximately $200.00 in property from that location.

Warrants – CK24051697.
On October 13, 2024, at approximately 9:46pm, General uniform officers were on patrol and located a male party walking down the street of St Clair Street, Chatham. The officers stopped the male party and through investigation learned that the man had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
Officers placed the 42-year-old Chatham man under arrested for this outstanding warrant and transported him to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing.
9 p.m. Routine
Every night at 9 p.m. homeowners are encouraged to ensure the following checklist is complete:
– Remove valuables and garage door opener from vehicles
– Lock vehicles
– Close overhead garage door
– Lock door between garage and house
– Close and lock all external doors
– Ensure windows are closed and locked
– Turn on an exterior light.
