The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events, including arrests, investigations, and other notable occurrences.

Arrest/Warrants – CK25030393/ CK24062969
Date: May 28, 2025, Time: 14:43hrs., Location: 24 Third Street, Chatham
On December 6, 2024, at approximately 16:26 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a theft involving an online marketplace transaction (CK24062969).
A 71-year-old female from Wallaceburg had arranged to meet a prospective buyer after conversing through a social media platform. During the meeting, the suspect requested to see a bracelet that was being sold. Once the item was handed over, the suspect fled on foot with the item without making a payment.
On April 22, 2025, a 19-year-old male from Chatham attended court to turn himself in for a previous theft investigation (CK24062969). He was arrested by Chatham-Kent Police officers on outstanding charges related to the possession of stolen property under $5,000 and theft under $5,000. He was later released with a scheduled court date of May 12, 2025, which the accused failed to attend. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
On May 29, 2025, at approximately 4:43hrs, the accused turned himself in to the police in connection to the outstanding warrant from the previously mentioned incident. He was arrested on the strength of an endorsed warrant. He was released with a future court date of July 7, 2025.The Chatham-Kent Police Service remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of our community.
