Chatham-Kent Police Service – Daily Report for May 23-25, 2025
The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 72 hours. Below is a summary of the key events, including arrests, investigations, and other notable occurrences.

Key Incidents:
Arrest/Theft – CK25029901/CK25029941
Date: May 23, 2025, Time: 18:14hrs., Location: St. Clair Street, Chatham
On May 23, 2025, at approximately 18:14hrs the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of two individuals observed concealing various items at a retail store in Chatham. Loss Prevention Officers reported that the suspects concealed several items.
The suspects proceeded to the self-checkout area where they paid for a few non-concealed items. No attempt was made to pay for the concealed merchandise.
The Loss Prevention Officers apprehended one suspect, a 35-year-old female from Chatham, while the other, a 51-year-old female also from Chatham, fled the area on foot, discarding several items while evading arrest. Police officers located the second suspect, and she was arrested.
The individuals were charged with the following:
• Count 1 – Theft Under $5,000
• Count 2 – Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
Additionally, they were issued Provincial Offences Notices under the Trespass to Property Act, for engaging in prohibited activity on the premises.
Both individuals were released with a scheduled date of June 23, 2025.
Arrest/Theft – CK25030017
Date: May 24, 2025, Time: 08:18hrs, Location: St. Clair Street, Chatham
On May 24, 2025, at approximately 08:18hrs the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a theft complaint at a retail store in Chatham. The complainant advised officers that two individuals had exited the premises with a large quantity of items and were still in the parking lot of the retail store.
Police officers arrived and located a 56-year-old male from Windsor in the parking lot. The male suspect was arrested on scene, while the second suspect, a 44-year-old female also from Windsor fled on foot. She was located shortly afterwards by police and was arrested.
Further investigation led to the arrest of a third suspect, a 31-year-old female from Chatham-Kent, who was found in possession of the stolen items.
The individuals are currently facing the following charges:
56-year-old male from Windsor
• Theft Under $5,000
• Obstruct Public or Peace officer
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
44-year-old female also from Windsor
• Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
31-year-old female from Chatham-Kent
• Obstruct Public or Peace officer
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
Video surveillance also confirmed the suspects’ involvement, including the vehicle in which the stolen items were loaded.
The 44-year-old female suspect was released with conditions and a scheduled future court date of June 16, 2025. The other suspects are currently being held for bail.
Arrest/Threats – CK25030191
Date: May 25, 2025, Time: 0813 hrs, Location: St. George St., Chatham
On May 25, 2025, at approximately 08:13hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in Chatham. A male complainant reported erratic behaviour by a family member, which escalated into threats and physical contact.
It was reported that an argument occurred between two individuals – a 31-year-old male from Chatham and a 27-year-old male victim also from Chatham. The situation escalated after one party became verbally aggressive. A verbal altercation followed, during which threats were made, and physical contact occurred.
Police arrested the 31-year-old male for one count of Uttering Threats. The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters. The individual was released with conditions not to have contact with the involved parties and is scheduled to appear in court on June 23, 2025.
