Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 166 calls for service in the last 24 hours. 9 People were arrested.
Man Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24021527
At 5:49 p.m., police located a male in the area of Edgar St, in Chatham. It was later determined that the male had an outstanding warrant for Failing to Attend Court.
The 54-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held for bail.
Man Arrested for Breach of Peace CK24021574
At approximately 10:47 p.m., police were called to the area of Erie St South, in Wheatley with regards to a disturbance involving a male and a female.
As a result of police investigation, a 32-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested for Breach of Peace. The man was transported to police headquarters and subsequently released with a Provincial Offence Notice.
Woman Arrested for Impaired Driving CK24021579
At 11:37 p.m., in the area of Wheatley Rd, in Wheatley, police observed a vehicle travelling well below the posted speed limit. The vehicle was observed to have been swerving.
As a result of a traffic stop and subsequent police investigation, a 61-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested for Impaired Operation. The female was transported to police headquarters and subsequently released with a future court date.

Police Week is finally here! This year’s theme is “Join Policing: Keep Ontario Safe”. During this week, we will be highlighting various members from our Chatham-Kent Police Family and sharing the important roles they play in keeping our community safe. Additionally, on Friday May 17th 2024 we will be hosting an event for the public at St. Clair College, Thames Campus, in Parking lot B.
This event will run from 12:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. and will give the public a chance to explore a career in policing by meeting police officers and police professionals as well as a chance to observe various displays of police equipment.
