Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 211 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Twelve people were arrested.
Man Charged with Violating Release Conditions (CK25013429)
On October 23rd, 2024, a 36-year-old man was charged by police for various sexual-related offences against a young person. Upon release from police custody, the man entered in an Undertaking with a specific condition prohibiting him from communicating or being in the company of any person under the age of 16, with limited exceptions.
On March 6th, 2025, at approximately 11:12 p.m., members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a domestic dispute Blenheim. Upon arrival, police located and identified the 36-year-old man, and through investigation determined him to be breaching the conditions of his Undertaking. As such, the man was arrested and transported to police headquarters pending a bail hearing the following morning.
Youth Charged with Assault (CK25013539)
On March 7th, 2025, at approximately 12:17 a.m., a woman entered into a business on Queen Street in Chatham seeking help after being assaulted by two unknown individuals using bear spray. Police immediately attended to the area and were subsequently able to locate the involved suspects – two youth under the age of seventeen. As a result of the investigation, a 15-year-old male was charged with Assault with a Weapon, Fail to Comply with Undertaking and Administer Noxious Substance. The youth was held in custody pending a bail bearing. A second 16-year-old male was also charged with Assault with a Weapon and Administer Noxious Substance, however, he was later released from police custody on an Undertaking with conditions and a future court date.
Woman Arrested on Outstanding Warrant (CK25013472)
On March 6th, 2025, at approximately 6:11 p.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) received a notification from the Sarnia Police Service advising that they had 42-year-old female in their custody currently wanted by CKPS for various offences including the following:
– Fail to Attend Court
– Arson
– Theft Under $5000
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
– Assault a Peace Officer
The woman was ultimately transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters, where she was held in custody on the strength of this warrant pending a bail hearing the following day.
