The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events, including arrests, investigations, and other notable occurrences.

Key Incidents:
Warrants – Case# CK25017319
Date: March 27, 2025, Time: 10:47hrs., Location: Goyeau Street, Windsor
Details:
On February 28, 2024, at approximately 1811 hrs, in a prior incident (CK24009064), the accused a 31-year-old male from Chatham entered a Wheatley business wearing a grey hoodie, ski mask, and a grey ball cap. He approached the counter and began taking lottery tickets. When a store employee informed him, that ID was needed and tickets had to be scanned, the suspect claimed he did not have ID and ripped the OLG lottery display off the counter. The total amount stolen was valued at $1,090.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service obtained video evidence and identified the suspect through investigations. He was arrested on March 10, 2024, and charged with the following:
•Theft Under $5000
•Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
•Disguise with Intent
The accused was released and failed to appear in court on April 8, 2025, resulting in a bench warrant. He was arrested again on December 22, 2024, with a court date set for January 27, 2025 (CK24066009), which he also failed to attend.
On March 27, 2025, at approximately 10:47 hrs., Windsor Police Service arrested the accused on outstanding unendorsed warrants for failing to attend court. He was transferred to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he is currently being held for bail.

Details:
The RIDE program conducted by the Chatham-Kent Police Service was held at multiple locations. A total of 177 cars were checked, 2 roadside tests administered, and 10 Highway Traffic Act warnings were issued.
