Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 188 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Nine people were arrested and five were on outstanding warrants.
Woman Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24029666
At 8:28 a.m., the woman attended the Chatham Kent Police – Tilbury office and turned herself in to the police.
The woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to a June 2022 mischief investigation.
The 44-year-old Tilbury woman was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing. As a result, she was released by the court with a future court date of July 16, 2024. She currently faces the following charges: mischief and failing to attend court.
Man Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24029668
At 8:33 a.m., the man was located on William Street South in Chatham. The officer confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to numerous investigations.
The 34-year-old Chatham Kent man was transported to police headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing. As a result, he was remanded into custody and transported to the Southwest Regional Detention Centre. He has a future court date of July 2, 2024, and faces the following charges: failing to attend court, uttering threats, failing to comply with a probation order, two counts of possession of stolen property, two counts of theft and two counts of break-and-enter.
Man Arrested for Bail Violations CK24029759
At 8:40 a.m., police responded to a disturbance on Wedgewood Avenue in Chatham.
Upon arrival officers located the man inside the residence. Officers confirmed the man was bound by conditions of a probation order prohibiting him from communicating with the occupant.
The 47-year-old Chatham Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date of July 29, 2024. He was charged with failing to comply with a probation order.
Man Arrested for Theft CK24029772
At 2:25 p.m., police responded to a theft of gas investigation on Mill Street in Tilbury. Details of the incident, such as the description of the suspect and the vehicle were collected and broadcasted to other officers.
At 10:00 p.m., the vehicle was observed by officers on King Street East in Chatham. Officers conducted a traffic stop on Hyslop Street. The driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, the man was taken into custody.
Further investigation revealed the man was bound by driving prohibitions, was in violation of various sections of Highway Traffic Act and wanted for failing to attend court.
The 37-year-old Chatham Kent man was transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: failing to comply with an undertaking, mischief theft, possession of stolen property, driving under suspension, no insurance, no valid permit, two counts of failing to attend court, three counts of operating a motor vehicle while prohibited and five counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
Man Arrested for Public Intoxication CK24029812
On June 27, 2024, at 2:13 a.m., police responded to a business on McNaughton West, near Sandys Street, for a disturbance.
Upon arrival officers located the man, who was highly intoxicated and unable to care for himself.
The 18-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held until sober.
