Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 183 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Ten people was arrested and two were on outstanding warrants.
Aggravated Assault Grand Ave E, Chatham CK24032722
A verbal argument took place at an establishment on Grand Ave East Chatham. The disturbance turned into a serious assault when a 22 year old male was struck in the head with a bottle causing him seek medical attention at Public General Hospital for a head injury. A 21 Year old Chatham man was located and placed under arrest. This man was transported to Chatham-Kent Headquarters where he was charged with aggravated assault. The man was released with a future court date of August 12, 2024
Staff assaulted Grand Ave West Chatham CK24032633
A staff member at a local business requested a man to leave their store. The man took offence to this request and assaulted the staff member. The man was located walking away from the store and placed under arrest. A 37 year old Chatham man was charged with assault and released with a future court date of August 12, 2024.
Break and enter Orchard Heights, Chatham CK24032553
At 07:56 am a man entered an address on Orchard Heights. The home owner was notified of this entry by security cameras. The man was confronted and left the address immediately. This incident is currently under investigation and Police are attempting to get video to identify the man.

IPV Harassment charges Coverdale Chatham CK24032573
A man and woman were involved in a relationship that was no longer active. The man was continually calling and showing up at the woman’s work place against her wishes. The man was located and charged with two counts of Criminal Harassment. The man was released with a future court date of August 12,2024 and conditions not to contact the woman or go to her work place.
Traffic complaint leads to Impaired charge Kirk street Chatham CK24032665
A call was received for a traffic complaint where one man caused a disturbance at an address on Kirk Street Chatham. The licence plate was obtained. Officers were able to locate the man in Thamesville area. The man was found to be under the influence of alcohol, placed under arrest and transported to Chatham-Kent Headquarters. The man was found to be three times the legal limit. A 39 year old Bothwell man was charged with Impaired/80 plus and eventually released with a court date of July 29,2024
Vehicle stop leads to Impaired charges Park Ave Chatham CK24032678
While on patrol an officer observed a vehicle operating erratically. The vehicle was stopped and the driver found to be under the influence of alcohol. The man was placed under arrest and transported to Chatham-Kent Headquarters where he found to have twice the legal limit. A 21 year old Dresden man was charged with Impaired operation/80 Plus and released with a future court date of July 29,2024.
