The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events, including arrests, investigations, and other notable occurrences.

Mischief – Case# CK25020067
Date: April 7, 2025, Time: 20:46hrs – 23:04hrs., Location: Grand Avenue West, Chatham
Details:
On April 1, 2025, between 20:46hrs – 23:04 hrs the accused, a 42-year-old male from Blenheim, contacted Chatham-Kent Police Service 9-1-1 emergency number a total of five times over a span of 2.5 hours without a valid emergency.
The individual, known to Chatham-Kent Police Service made four initial 9-1-1 calls regarding non-emergency matters and was uncooperative when contacted by officers. However, during the fourth call, police issued a caution against Public Mischief which did not deter the individual.
On April 7, 2025, at approximately 23:04 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a fifth 9-1-1 call. Officers located and arrested the accused on Grand Avenue West in Chatham. The accused was charged with Public Mischief. He later released with a scheduled court date of May 5, 2025.
The Chatham-Kent Police service would like to remind the public that 9-1-1 calls should only be used for emergency situations.

Date: April 7, 2025, Time: 06:45 hrs., Location: 24 Third Street, Chatham
Details:
On March 1, 2022, during a gathering at a residence in Wallaceburg, the accused, a 37-year-old male from Scarborough, became intoxicated and physically assaulted a 34-year-old female victim from Wallaceburg. The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to the complaint and the accused was arrested and charged with one count of Assault Causing Bodily Harm. He was later released with a future court date of April 8, 2022. The accused failed to attend court and subsequently, an outstanding warrant was issued for failing to attend.
On April 8, 2025, the accused attended the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and turned himself in for his outstanding warrants. He is currently being held for bail.
